In a busy weekend of European sales (see Mike’s blog, 28 Sept) over 30 Ferraris will go under the hammer next week (11 October) at the prestigious ‘Tailored for Speed’ auction on Zurich.
One of the stars of the sale is a very rare Ferrari SA Aperta – one of only 80 ever made. It has had just two previous owners and is expected to sell for around £1.5 million.
The 2012-registered soft-top Ferrari, finished in Blu Pizzi, boasts a 6.0 litre V12 engine and a six- speed F1 style gearbox.
It comes with just 3,871 miles on its clock and records a top speed of 201 mph.
A spokesperson for the auctioneers RM Sotheby’s, said: “It is amongst the rarest of all Ferrari’s modern limited production cars with a stated production of 80 examples and constructed to celebrate Pininfarina’s 80th anniversary.”
Other ‘super cars’ at the ‘Tailored for Speed’ collection are a Ferrari 333 SP, a Ferrari FXX-K Evo, Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo, a Daytona SP3 and a Pagani Huayra Roadster BC.
